The process of making pictures frees my mind to wander without recollection. And this meditative state has

been the inspiration for my work. A recognizable image focuses the eye while abstracting the peripheral plane,

providing a space in which the viewer’s mind is free to wander, yet compelled to create narrative and derive

meaning. And it is only in that brief moment of confusion just before the eye and mind connect to make sense

of the paintings’ unfamiliar boundaries that the viewer also remains free from recollection.
